That's perfectly okay, Rachel. I love it when you tell me I'm wrong. I only wish I could see you in person when you tell it to me so I could see your bright eyes flashing and animated arms working. We had some good battles, you and I. ;) As to barlog's allegation against my scenario I have this to say: race has nothing to do with it. Violence touches all races, colors, and creeds. No race has a monopoly on violence so the perpetrator in my little play could be any color, any color at all.

No, Drew, you're wrong!!

Wha? uh, sorry ... reflex.

Yeah, releasing your secret, ever-growing tirades in short bursts in controlled circumstances is a good idea.... in theory....

But have you guys heard of Sally Kern yet? She's a senator or representative from Oklahoma who went on a tirade about gays. She thought she was only speaking to 50 people, but oops! somebody recorded it.

Here's the link:

Here's her response after it was distributed over the internet:

Hehe, I got you guys to talk on this medium after a dry spell didn't I? Obviously, a lot of what I say is in the heat of the moment and hyperbole. At law school, they teach us to reign all that emotion in and only release in concentrated bursts at precise times. Had I made that argument in court, the judge would've nailed my ass to the wall. However, I wasn't in court, I was in my home ready to see my friends talk on this thing again. Still, gun control laws are horribly dumb. Regardless of what alternatives you have in mind, I'm glad to see you guys are clear that gun control has absolutely nothing to do with stemming the tide of gun violence. Hell, Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter got mugged in a D.C. park while running. They beat him silly, so are we going to regulate park jogging to stem the tide of muggings in the park? Nope. Glad to hear from you guys again.

Man, Drew... you have an unmatched ability to make me feel ashamed of my own political viewpoints. I also hate gun control laws, but the Grandma Death scenario is so fucking ridiculous it almost makes me want to change sides. Do you not realize this?
