Soooooo, I'm in Pullman Washington now, I just got a job yesterday working at the Moscow Food Co-op (that's in Moscow Idaho, Drew, it's not some crazy hippy pinko plot to lure in unsuspecting shoppers). It is a super cool store, much like Cornucopia, but much larger. They sell TONS of shit in bulk, like shampoo in big jugs, and all you have to do is bring in your old shampoo bottle and voila! more shampoo without wasting more plastic. I've told that to several people. It impresses me to no end. PLUS, the Co-op gives discounts to people who skateboard, walk, ride their bikes, or rollerblade to the store, although I'm not sure how that works yet either. In any case, its a sweet place with sweet principles :) I've been writing some new music, but I'm waiting to record until I get my new preamp that I bought off of ebay. By the way, if you haven't heard any of the old stuff we recorded yet got to www.myspace.com/thehoothoots and have fun:) OH, and I bought an organ today for 38 bucks at the used store just down the street from us! And the lady there was uber nice because we were trying to put the organ into Shezuka (spelling? Japanese for silence) which is Christina's car and it didn't fit, so Cindy the nice used store lady said hey I have this big ass truck over here and you look like you two are the coolest people in the world so yeah, I'll drop it off at your house when I go to my doctor's appointment today. so yeah that was sweet. Christina and I are living in this house that is FAR to large for two people, so we're actually kinda bummed about that because it seems cavernous. We haven't really met any super cool people yet, at least I haven't, but hopefully when I start work that will change. Absolutely all of you are welcome to come visit, we could probably host around 8 people, seriously (okay maybe a bit exaggerating but it would be fun, no?) So long, and be sure to relax.

I'm really glad I have such awesome friends, even if I don't get to see you guys very often. That said, I'm really, really looking forward to my trip to the midwest. It'll happen right after I get my advisor packed up and sent off to Barcelona for her sabbatical. This means an entire week of being around lovely people who know me well and I can relax with. And perhaps a little work on my thesis. just a bit.
Best of luck to everybody who is starting up school again so soon. I have almost another month to go, and I'm hoping that sometime soon they'll be nice enough to tell me what class I'll be TAing for.
so Rachel & i got together in San Diego & had a little chat about how we're both going homewise in early September, and have decided to convene on Galesburg to see the fall colors. AND Mason Jennings is going to be there?? Sounds like heaven in Illinois! see many of you soon...
love!

Hey you crazy kids!
I saw a picture of the Hoot Hoots in the Knox magazine. It rocked my world, quite literally. What can I say, my world is easily rocked. Anyway, today was the first offical day of school(::ding ding:: grad school round 2!). I'm already swamped with projects and now I have the added responsibility of taking the new guy under my illustrious wing and showing him the ropes. On the plus side I made some great contacts with a couple Universities in Denver so I'll be able to collect more guinea pigs (aka undergrads) down there. However, the catch is that I'll have to do a series of 45 minute lectures in front of 100+ students at a time as part of the deal. I'll have an army of minions in no time! Ya hear that Drew? you better get a move on and build yourself a neocon army quick or you'll be overrun.
Anyway, I just wanted to holla at ya'll and let you know what's cookin in my neck of the woods. I do hope everyone is doing reasonably well and making trouble whereever they may roam.
