Sir Jordan,
I'm glad to hear you are still pondering the questions of the universe, even if you find the everydayness a bit drab. As for the honors project I understand your growing worry but I have to tell you that it will all come together in the end...somehow. That's just the way these things go. You'll hit points when you think everything will come tumbling down, but it doesn't. I also know what it feels like to try at look at grad programs while juggling schoolwork and soulkilling honors work. After a while you realize that every website looks just about the same. What really helps is not just looking at faculty interests but trying to read some of their published theoretical work and see if anything catches your fancy. Talking to your math professors is also a good idea since supposedly they know something about their field.
I have no worry that a sharp young man such as yourself will find something worthwhile in this world.
