Well, I got my ass handed to me on a midterm in contract law. I ended up getting a D, but the grade will only count for ten percent of the final grade, provided that I do better on the final exam. It was indeed frustrating to receive so low a grade after I studied for nine hours for that test. I guess I just wasn't thinking like a lawyer when I drafted my answers, but after talking to my family and law school friends I have stopped my freak out cycle. I realize now that it's only one test and it's primary purpose is to scare the shit out of all one Ls to get them to study like they've never studied before in preparation for the final. On another midterm exam, in civil procedure (rules on suing people) I feel I did much better. I'll be getting that one back this week. I plan to work smarter and harder. Four hours a night is now not the minimum for me, from now on it's going to be five hours a night. Also, I'll be seeking new sources of knowledge like flash cards and notes on the law. We'll see if that does any better. Before you all think, gee law school has completely hijacked Drew's life I'll offer up some personal news. My Grandmother went to the hospital for major heart surgery (which I found out about right before I got that bad test back, great stuff huh?), but she is out and doing fine now I think. I lost power for three days because the fucking morons of Allegheny Power thought my block had power when it really didn't. It all started with a snow storm before Halloween, thank you very much hurricane. I'm glad you like farm life Emily, very Jeffersonian of you. Talk to y'all later (West Virginia accent added).

Adam, i believed you about the 9-pound baby thing. lies, lies everywhere...

umm, besides that, not so much going on. We're planning to have our own Thanksgiving dinner here at Keith's Farm, the Sunday before Thanksgiving when most of us will be going home again. That should be delish :) Umm, i'm applying for a job in Washington state working for an environmental agency and could start either in Feb or in May. we'll see on that one. looking for jobs SUCKS when you don't have internet where you live & you're lucky to be online more than an hour at a time, but maybe soon Anna (formerly Annie) will ger her computer up & going again. or i might just wait til i get home to apply for more jobs. ye gods.

vegetable news: the tomatoes are finally GONE!! oh man, and am i happy about that. this past week we actually took down all the trellises, pulled up the stakes (laboriously), and uprooted all the plants. soon we'll burn them, to kill any evil tomato-harming buggies that could be on them. i'm hoping we do it Halloween night, because that would be good & creepy.... huge tomato bonfires in a dark open field... wha-ha-ha-ha!

oh, and i was listening to WFMU doing Halloween special music and there was a story narrated by a pirate telling about an encounter with Billy Bones (dead these 100 years!)on a still, spooky night. he said the moon hung on the horizon "like an old, rotten peach." i liked that. Happy Halloween!

I like football stadiums. I think they are great. They help my general well-being, and we should use as many of our tax dollars as we can muster to kick the "poverty scum class" off their homes so I can watch more crotch-sniffing action on the football field. And I think Ginsburg should wrestle William "The Fridge" Perry to decide once and for all which race is better than the other. Yes and upside down crucifixions, don't forget those at half time. oh yes, entertain me entertain me... So, I've been slowly working on some new songs for The Hoot Hoots. We've rerecorded and finished 3 songs, we have at least 5 that are completed that we haven't started recording, and I have probably six or seven that I've been indolently working on for a few months. My voice is still feeling a bit wonky, so I have to go back to the doctor on Nov 11, but first I have to sing a solo in Chamber Singers :) which should be fun but a bit interesting considering I've had a nasty cold for several days now. Oh and Andru Bemis came to Knox last weekend, and his shit certainly doesn't stink because I was right in the front and he smelled pretty good. Mitch is now obsessed with him, and listens to his CD's at least once everyday. Oh and I can't believe I forgot this. I was walking by the Wilson House yesterday and I helped this lady there who was in labor. She gave birth to a 9 pound baby boy, and she named him Shithead. So that was made up, actually I walked past the Wilson House and picked up a stray piece of carpet and I thought that was exciting. Oh and once I find the link, everybody should listen to the first single from my side project techno band, Total Electron Reversal. It feature Pete singing some rather risque lines about some ambiguous mother and me singing in epic diva style. The title of the song is Puppies are Made of Puppy Meat. The End.
