Just a few citations to add to this term paper and I'm DONE for the quarter! Spring break here I come! This has been one of the most mentally challenging and yet satisfying terms of school ever, mostly because it's all stuff that I care about (and so I never felt like I was able to spend enough time on all of the things that mattered). But now it's pretty much over and I'll have a whole week to relax and go hiking and catch up on all of my delinquent communication and do fun things a bit. Oh, and read to prepare for my first week of spring quarter.

Wowza, people. I'm taking an independent study next quarter to squeeze the last bit of useful knowledge out of my advisor before she takes off for her year-long sabbatical. We'll still be in touch, but we won't be in face-to-face contact. And I'm preparing to begin my master's thesis at the beginning of the summer. At this point, it looks like I'll be writing about how language ideology and identity are constructed through socialization. Unless I get a gig in Barcelona this summer, in which case I'll be analyzing real data for my thesis instead of being all theoretical. Or perhaps I'll dig through the library's special collection from the Spanish civil war and do a historical ideological analysis ... but that's less likely. I'm going to dig around there next week and see if anything interests me.

I hope things are going well for you all. I'm going to go crash now.
